What kind of game is ContraBand?

ContraBand is an action game, make no bones about it. However, it borrows heavily from the world of RPGs, giving the game extra depth via an eclectic inventory system and diverse character advancement features. Think along the lines of Advent Rising or Kindgom Hearts, and you'll be nearing the ContraBand way of playing. It is in the third-person perspective.

What styles of combat are there?

There are three playable characters. These characters represent three diverse fighting styles: Swordplay, Gunplay, and Sorcery. Most parts of the game will let you choose who to play as, so you can pick the style you're best suited to.

Magic in ContraBand

The characters in ContraBand will collect Media as they progress through the story. Media can fuse with weapons, enabling the user to wield magic. When Media is separated from the weapon, though, these abilities are lost. However, warriors who become very well acquainted with one particular type of Media have been known to retain some of their magical abilities after switching types.
